Print and colour management

In a world that’s becoming increasingly focused on digital marketing, you might be thinking, “is print really still crucial to reaching my audience?”. The answer is yes – of course!

Excellent quality printed material and superb colour management is absolutely vital to catching eyes, showcasing your brand message and boosting your reputation as professionals. If you want people to remember and appreciate your message, it’s hugely important to pay special care and attention to how your printed collateral, signs, banners and more are presented and produced.

WHY DOES MY BUSINESS NEED PRINT?

Online marketing is important, but you also need a synergy with your printed and promotional materials in the physical world of networking, presenting and making valuable connections. By giving prospects something physical that they can keep, you can expand brand awareness and communicate your brand’s vision in a way that digital marketing can’t do just by itself.

With excellent quality design and printed materials, we can talk your team through the best options to convey your brand message. Whether it’s making the right first impression with business cards or wowing your prospects with a sleek brochure, we have the in-house expertise and experience to create something truly unforgettable.

WHAT IS COLOUR MANAGEMENT AND WHY DOES MY BUSINESS NEED IT?

Not all colours are created equal – even colours you think are the same. Unavoidably, colours vary depending on their application, and when brand consistency is vital to making an impact, it’s not something that should be overlooked.

Your brand colours are integral to communicating your business’s ethos and approach, so it’s important that they retain the same impact wherever they are. Colour management is the process of controlling and maintaining colour quality and production, meaning that a lot of care and attention goes into just getting your colours right across everything your brand touches. As a design agency in Birmingham with print and creative experts, we understand how integral colour is to your brand, meaning we can use our expertise to retain its consistency across a huge variety of print and digital applications which you can see on examples of previous projects here.

When approaching print, we go through a range of steps to ensure quality and value:

HOW DOES EDGE CREATIVE APPROACH PRINT?

  • 01

    STEP 1: MEETING WITH YOU

First we’ll chat with you to discuss your requirements. We’ll be sure to get a solid understanding of your brand, your other printed materials (if applicable) and imagery, in order to fit in seamlessly with your business’s other projects. We’ll provide a bespoke quote, as well as discuss your expectations.

  • 02

    STEP 2: DESIGN

Once you’re happy to go ahead, we’ll design your materials within our in-house studio. Our experienced graphic designers will use brand and colour management to ensure consistency, as well as imagery suited to your brand, to craft printed materials that are impactful and eye catching.

  • 03

    STEP 3: APPROVAL

We’ll keep you informed every step of the way – from when our agency designers are working on your project, to when a proof is available. We’ll send over a proof to you so you and your team are able to review this and provide comments or guidance if needed. Once you have approved the proof, we’ll be able to move onto the next stage.

  • 04

STEP 4: PROOFING, CHECKING AND PRINTING

Before we place your project into print, we’ll perform in-depth checks by multiple members of the team on copywriting, design and imagery use, as well as brand usage. We’ll check against any amends you’ve made previously, and will stringently check before this goes to print.

  • 05

    STEP 5: DELIVERY

Once printed, we’ll perform a final quality check to ensure colour consistency and quality of the physical printed materials. When satisfied that this is the best it could possibly be, we’ll let you know that your print is complete and will either deliver the items to you or give you the option to collect them from us.
