UNIFYING LAW FIRMS THROUGH A FULL COMPANY CORPORATE EVENT

Delivering corporate event management for a firm-wide event designed to bring together teams and stakeholders following a major acquisition.

OVERVIEW

NBB Waldrons is a multidisciplinary law practice providing specialist legal services to both individuals and businesses.

With a combined team of over 130 people, including 70 solicitors, the firm entered a new chapter following NBB Law’s acquisition of Waldrons Solicitors.

To support this transition, NBB Waldrons wanted to bring colleagues together for a full-company corporate event that encouraged connection, reflected on the journey of both businesses, and looked ahead to the future.

THE OBJECTIVES

  • Unite employees from both legacy firms under a single NBB Waldrons identity, fostering collaboration and a shared sense of purpose.
  • Strengthen confidence in the acquisition by clearly communicating the vision, strategy, and opportunities for the future.
  • Leave employees feeling engaged, excited, and inspired about the future, creating a sense of momentum and optimism across the business.

DELIVERED THROUGH…

DESIGN OF THE DAY

The design of the day needed to acknowledge Waldrons’ long-established heritage while creating excitement about the future of the combined business.

To support this, a bespoke event identity was created that combined elements of both brands, visually representing the coming together of NBB Law and Waldrons. The creative approach balanced familiarity with progress, helping employees feel connected to the journey so far while building confidence in the future.

Every touchpoint, from presentations and signage to digital assets and communications, was designed to reinforce a consistent and professional experience.

At the heart of the day was the theme ‘Building a Shared Future’, which unified key messages, encouraged engagement, and reinforced the vision for the newly formed NBB Waldrons.

The event also provided a platform to communicate important updates on branding, locations, services, and future plans, ensuring colleagues left informed, reassured, and excited about the next chapter.

EVENT PLANNING & COORDINATION

EDGE Creative provided full-service event management, overseeing the planning, coordination, and delivery of the event from concept through to execution.

Our support included:

  • Venue and supplier management.
  • Event scheduling and logistics coordination.
  • Internal attendee communications.
  • Management of registrations, dietary requirements, and photo consent.
  • Coordination of event branding and presentation materials.
  • Briefing and management of photography and video teams.
  • On-site event delivery and stakeholder support.

By managing every detail behind the scenes, we ensured the design of the day translated into a seamless experience for attendees while allowing the leadership team to focus on communicating with employees and celebrating this significant milestone.

ATTENDEE EXPERIENCE PLANNING

The attendee experience was carefully designed to ensure employees felt informed, involved, and part of a shared conversation from the outset.

Ahead of the event, employees across both organisations were invited to complete a feedback survey on the acquisition. The insights gathered directly informed the structure and content of the on-the-day Q&A session, ensuring leadership responses were shaped by real concerns, questions, and sentiment from across the teams.

This created a more open and responsive dialogue during the event itself, giving employees visibility that their input had been heard and reflected in the discussion.

Overall, the experience was designed to feel transparent, inclusive, and collaborative, helping to bring both teams together around a shared understanding of the future.

MARKETING DESIGN SERVICES

With multiple floors, presentation spaces and digital screens throughout the Birmingham Hippodrome, careful planning was required to ensure the branding felt consistent, considered, and aligned across every touchpoint of the event.

Rather than standalone assets, the design work was developed as connected visuals that supported the narrative of the day, helping guide attendees through the space and reinforce key messaging at every stage of the experience.

The work included presentation design, media wall artwork, venue signage, screen graphics, event branding assets, and historic timeline visuals, all developed to work seamlessly across the different environments within the space.

ON-THE-DAY MANAGEMENT

The event was supported by full on-the-day event coordination to ensure a seamless experience from arrival through to the close of proceedings.

This included overseeing venue setup and dressing, managing guest arrival and meet-and-greet activity, and delivering structured event communications and stage announcements to guide the flow of the day and maintain momentum across all sessions.

A dedicated approach to attendee journey management was in place throughout, including the coordinated distribution of lanyards and materials, alongside live schedule management to ensure every element of the agenda ran smoothly and to time.

Direction of guests across multiple floors and spaces, along with real-time supplier coordination, ensured the event remained aligned and responsive throughout.

Alongside delivery, internal communications were also supported with planned social media activity before and after the event, including updates around temporary business closures and the wider sharing of content to extend the reach of the event externally.

THE RESULT

The event successfully brought together more than 130 employees from across NBB Law and Waldrons Solicitors.

It provided a clear and structured platform for communication between leadership and teams, helping to align colleagues around the future structure, direction and identity of the newly combined organisation.

The combination of considered event planning, integrated branding, structured messaging and coordinated content capture ensured the day delivered both clarity and reassurance during a period of significant change.

Feedback from attendees highlighted the strength of the experience, with post-event survey results reflecting a highly positive response:

  • Overall rating of the day: 4.78 / 5
  • Rating of logistics (travel, timings, organisation): 4.84 / 5

These results reinforced the success of the delivery, particularly in ensuring the event ran smoothly while maintaining a strong focus on communication and engagement.

Overall, the event helped strengthen internal understanding, bring teams together and support a smoother integration process moving forward.

“EDGE Creative recently supported us through a major acquisition and the delivery of a firm-wide event, bringing together over 140 colleagues from two businesses. Their input on the branding, design and overall planning of the day was excellent. Professional, creative, friendly and a pleasure to work with from start to finish.

Their ability to understand our business and translate this into strong, consistent messaging and visuals has been fantastic. I’m very happy to recommend EDGE Creative and look forward to continuing our relationship with them on future projects.”
