The Task

In February 2021, Cargo Express was looking for a marketing agency in Birmingham to help improve their website’s look and feel, as well as market their business digitally through SEO and social media. This led Cargo Express to revisit a previous proposal from us with integrated marketing solutions that would help them improve the brand’s digital positioning and meet their digital goals.

With this challenge in our hands, our development and design team began to reimagine Cargo Express’ website possibilities to deliver a smoother and quicker user journey, in addition to bringing a new consistency to their branding.

The Results

The team created a bespoke website for Cargo Express, with a new and improved user journey plus fresh imagery from the photoshoot we held of their fleet. Moreover, our content and SEO team worked together to rewrite the website’s content to improve SEO results and increase organic traffic.

Alongside our SEO work, we took over their social platforms in September 2021. Since we’ve been managing their social accounts, Cargo Express’ following has increased by 8.7% on Facebook and 83.6% on LinkedIn.

Our work for Cargo Express has tapped into more areas than just web design, SEO strategies, and social media marketing – we’ve also supported them with digital stationery, digital PR, e-mail marketing, and branding merchandise.

We’re incredibly proud of the work done so far for Cargo Express, and we’re looking forward to continuing to support their business with our digital services and keep enhancing their website and social media presence. A special shout out to our designers James, Ryan and Andrew for the amazing results on the website, and to our SEO expert Lydia for the continuous SEO work!

EDGE have been fantastic in developing our new website, they have communicated and reacted to every requirement and always provide a superb service. Kelly has been great as an Account Manager – she is easy to talk to and really tries to understand my requirements and needs at each stage. I look forward to continuing to use EDGE for future projects.

Bravo Benefits

Bravo benefits website design and web branding

Summary

Bravo Benefits are a leading employee benefits provider that is passionate about providing a wide range of business support to help employers engage, reward, and protect their employees. Our relationship with Bravo Benefits began in 2016, when they were known as Busy Bees Benefits. Busy Bees Benefits were to undergo a brand transformation, as they moved from childcare vouchers to employee benefits.

They approached us with the desire to create a clean, simple, and modern brand with the key objectives of portraying the services that they offer. We acted as a strategic partner to reposition the company as an employee benefits provider. Knowing that we deliver inspiring, exciting campaigns with measurable success, Bravo Benefits once again trusted us to action their digital rebrand. We have worked to reposition the company to reflect their place in the fintech world.

The Task

With the introduction of their Smart Hive and Reward & Recognition platforms, we rebranded the look, feel and branding of Bravo Benefits to align better with the needs of today’s businesses, bringing their simple and easy-to-implement fintech solutions to the forefront.

To ensure we met their objectives, we implemented a new marketing strategy, researching their position in the market to identify objectives, KPI’s and customer journeys to create fresh, coherent branding and messaging across a range of digital platforms including web and
social media.

The Results

The updated Bravo Benefits website reflects the spirit of what they do: support employers and their employee’s wellbeing. The site has been optimised to convert visitors to leads, established around a clear conversion strategy, informing visitors who Bravo Benefits are, what they do and how to become a customer. Using an integrated marketing strategy, we were able to focus on a website redesign concentrated on increasing lead generation efforts. Alongside the website development, we implemented a new marketing strategy to maximise engagement and interactions across web and social media to generate leads, improve brand awareness and direct traffic to the new website.

Social media was used to create anticipatory enthusiasm in the
build-up to the relaunch and has been used since to create coherent branding, focusing on their Smart Hive and Reward & Recognition platforms, to represent the business’s presence in the technology industry. Our use of social media advertising has allowed Bravo Benefits to utilise public data to easily target its intended audience, pushing content onto their feeds. Metrics prove that this has increased the brand’s reach and has allowed the company to get involved in current affairs and trending conversations, ultimately increasing their online presence, and attracting new customers.

Gladwin Brothers

Gladwin Brothers in a bright field with cows

Summary

The Gladwin Brothers own and operate a chain of restaurants across London and the southeast, each catering to their own niche but with the umbrella focus of “Local & Wild”. Their restaurants are created with the purpose of using natural, locally sourced ingredients through their partnerships with farmers and suppliers in the surrounding area.

The three brothers at the helm use their individual skills in tandem, one as a farmer, another as a chef, and the last as a restauranteur, to produce a unique fine dining experience at each of their seven London locations.

They contacted us in 2022 to help change their under utilisation of Google Analytics, improve the user experience of their websites, and conduct detailed competitor research.

The Task

The Gladwin Brothers wanted to scale their SEO, online presence, and advertising strategy effectively. While they had no issue getting customers through the door, the business was growing, and they wanted to target the right audiences to ensure that they were maximising their opportunities.

Additionally, they did not utilise Google Analytics in the most efficient way for a business of their size. They were able to use the programme to access top-level data but needed the help of EDGE to discover more detailed findings and utilise it effectively. More specifically, they had plenty of web traffic, but had not set up any form of goal tracking, which meant they were unable to analyse the success of their different marketing channels through conversion data.

We also noticed that the interface and interactivity of their websites was not optimised for customer efficiency. To help analyse the performance of their websites from a customer perspective, we conducted a user experience audit across all seven under their control, identifying areas for them to improve their functionality and increase bookings.

Statistics showing 50% reduction in users bookings dropping off thanks to their website redesign

The Results

To start, we looked at their analytics to identify how their two main target audiences, young professionals and couples or groups in their 40s and 50s, were interacting with the business. From there, we worked to identify several ways that the Gladwin Brothers could help increase their audience engagement.

To do this effectively, we needed to organise and restructure their Google Analytics to help both us and the brothers find, collect, and utilise the data more easily. For example, we went through the process of setting up and tracking visitor, customer, and booking data to give valuable insights into how engaged their users were.

This kind of information was previously inaccessible or stored across several different accounts, and two of their restaurants even shared the same analytics which resulted in inaccurate data reporting. Now, all data for the Gladwin Brothers is stored logically and accurately, meaning that they can more easily identify which strategies are working through tangible data and help make better business decisions moving forwards.

We also performed a full user experience audit on the websites for each of the restaurants and the central Gladwin Brothers site. It was here where we made the most changes, identifying several areas where the user experience was unoptimized and causing potential customers to drop off.

The Google Analytics data showed that users were dropping off during the booking process as it implemented a two-part form process, in which the initial booking details were not editable at the second stage. This resulted in people restarting the process when they wanted to change the date, time of their booking or the number of people attending. On the site for the Sussex restaurant, we saw that 93% of the visitors had left the site during the booking processes, with the other 7% bouncing between booking forms. To help reduce user friction, we recommended that they allow users to change their initial booking information in the second stage.

We also found inconsistencies throughout their branding and display across the sites. For example, the Black Lamb restaurant was previously called the Black Sheep, but both names were frequently referred to throughout the website. Additionally, there were some technical issues preventing the loading of certain pages or the submission and reception of contact forms.

We provided a report for all the technical problems that we encountered which was passed to their website developer for improvements as well as a list of CRO improvements required to boost success. Since our changes were made, we’ve been able to track more than 300 additional bookings for the Sussex restaurant alone.

The Results

As with all our website projects, we worked closely with our client to bring their vision to life. Through our detailed wireframing process, we mapped out each part of the website and its functionality to focus on a simple and straightforward navigation tool.

We also drew emphasis to their commitment to customer service and feel by using engaging and memorable character illustrations throughout the website and other marketing materials.

When creating the website, search engine optimisation (SEO) was our top priority, optimising each page to drive visits, clicks, and conversions through keyword-rich content and prioritising accessibility as part of our content marketing service. Our dedication to a comprehensive SEO strategy has increased sessions by 46.48% and the number of new users by 57.98%, as well as Unique Page Views by 45.76% when comparing to the previous year.

On top of this, we have worked on video production, including animations, as well as case studies, press releases, paid advertisements, continuous search engine and conversion rate optimisation, website updates, and much more.

Our partnership with EDGE has played a vital role in supporting our business growth and success. Their expertise and dedication have exceeded our expectations, resulting in outstanding outcomes. Karen has been fantastic in maintaining strong connections and ensuring our needs are met throughout our partnership with EDGE.

EDGE’s innovative approach transformed our website into a true showcase of our extensive experience and commitment to exceptional customer service, driving increased traffic, engagement, and conversions of valuable leads.

Beyond website development, EDGE has become an extension of our marketing department, managing our social media, PR, events, video, and email marketing. Their efforts have elevated our brand’s visibility, deepened audience connections, and we greatly value their participation in our business meetings throughout the year and their provision of Social Media training, which have enhanced our engagement levels and brand awareness.

We are excited about the future and look forward to continuing our collaboration with EDGE.

The Task

Wanting to develop their brand identity, we began the process by defining the brand keywords and touch points. In doing so, our team were able to put a set of design principles to inspire the design strategy and the branding direction. We focused on the customer care and products that Sirus offers within the mobility sector and targeting a more gender-neutral audience. Alongside this, the business wanted to increase the number of enquiries and transition from printed marketing to digital marketing.

The Results

This new branding was applied across multiple media platforms including the website, social media, email, brochure, magazine adverts and other printed collateral. All marketing uses the same message and imagery for a consistent and dynamic execution between all platforms.

With the website, we defined the personas during key stages in the buying process, wire framing the user journey to ensure that the audience were provided with the right information at specific touchpoint. This journey encouraged the audience to convert with clear CTA’s throughout each page. Alongside this, we have also used carefully crafted SEO techniques to increase traffic to the website through organic search.
